King Mani Mukunda

Mukunda Sen, the eldest son of King of state of Palpa – Rudra Sen, was born on 1553 B.S. Along with support from his son, he unified several other states to Palpa and made a provision towards those states to be ruled by the former kings after paying annual tax to the state of Palpa, the tax amount being based on area, population and income of those states. He was the first person to make use of the term federalism. Mukunda sen has a major contribution in conservation and promotion of religious and vedic culture and tradition. On 1610 B.S. he was enlightened after mediation on holy land of Devghat. Therefore he was widely known as “Muni” Mukunda and later popularized as “Mani” instead of Muni. Manimukunda Sen passed away in 1622 B.S.
